Neue Wilde, New Wild, New Expression.

In the 1980s, a new art direction in the world was created, New Expression, Neue Wilde.

New Expression is still continued in the 21st century by its creators.

The pioneers of the new expression movement in Poland were Zbigniew Maciej Dowgiałło and Wojciech Tracewski. The first large exhibitions presenting the trans-avant-garde in Poland were rather a summary and closure of this trend; works representative of it are, in some cases, dated back to 1978, long before the official recognition and description of this phenomenon (Wikipedia)

Zbigniew Dowgiałło's first exhibition took place in 1978 in the student gallery of the Gdańsk University of Technology in Gdańsk.

The young generation, making their debut during martial law, somehow "naturally" joined expressive trends (referred to in our case as New Expression), and their speeches were characterized by enormous strength and numbers. Artists, turning away from official cultural institutions, spontaneously created substitute structures, such as artistic groups, which were extremely numerous at that time.
